D6 Integrates HomePointe to Reinforce Family-Based Discipleship

by Christian Leader Update

In a strategic move that unifies two pioneering forces in family ministry, D6 is proud to announce the acquisition of HomePointe, also recognized as DriveFaithHome.com. This merger, effective January 1, 2024, marks a significant step toward helping churches bolster the home as the principal setting for nurturing faith.

For nearly a decade and a half, both D6 and HomePointe have independently spurred a flourishing network of church leaders dedicated to restoring the home as the primary context for discipleship. Their union signals a new era of collaboration and shared expertise.

In 2009 DriveFaithHome.com was founded by best-selling author Kurt Bruner after other churches asked to adopt and customize innovative family ministry strategies pioneered while Bruner served as pastor of spiritual formation at the 15,000 member Lake Pointe Church. Since then, over 800 churches have implemented the HomePointe model for family discipleship.

In that same year, D6 Family Ministry and Randall House launched the D6 Conference, igniting a global movement. Renowned for its high-caliber, family ministry resources, including the D6 Conference, D6 curriculum, and a multitude of publications, D6 continues to help churches champion the spiritual health and vibrancy of families worldwide. The addition of D6 HomePoint as an in-church resource promises to further this mission.

With this merger, D6 Family and D6 HomePoint unite their considerable resources and influence. Together, they help ministry leaders and parents change the negative statistics of young people walking away from the church and deconstructing their faith.

Kurt Bruner reflects on the journey: “D6 has been a valued ally in our quest from the outset. This merger allows us to collaborate more closely than we ever imagined. I am thankful to our boards for endorsing this union and am excited about the increased impact we can make together.”

Ron Hunter, CEO of D6 Family Ministry, adds, “Kurt Bruner and his team have been a source of profound insights and practical strategies for churches for many years. Our mutual support for common goals has now paved the way for a comprehensive suite of intergenerational resources that will fortify families and drive faith home.”
