Change returns ministry to the original name founder Dr. D. James Kennedy gave outreach in 1974
FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida (February 15, 2024) – In a shift back to its roots, the Fort Lauderdale-based media outreach, D. James Kennedy Ministries, returns to its original name, Coral Ridge Ministries, as it marks 50 years of ministry in 2024.
Coral Ridge Ministries Board Chair, Mrs. Jennifer Kennedy Cassidy, the daughter of D. James Kennedy, stated: “As we enter our 50th year of ministry, I am thrilled at this change back to the name my father gave this media ministry when he founded it. Just like my father, we are dedicated to proclaiming the gospel, defending freedom, and equipping believers to impact the world for the Kingdom of God. That mission remains rock solid and unchanged.”
The new name, Coral Ridge Ministries or CRM, will now be used on all ministry communications, including our website (www.crm.tv), print communications and emails.
The name of Coral Ridge Ministries’ weekly television broadcast, Truths That Transform, is unchanged. For many, the new name, Coral Ridge Ministries, will be immediately familiar since it was the ministry moniker up until 2011.
“With this change, we are affirming our commitment to the original vision behind Coral Ridge Ministries—to be a megaphone for the gospel and the truths of God’s Word that sounds across America and the entire world,” said Dr. Robert J. Pacienza, Coral Ridge Ministries President and CEO.
Dr. Kennedy elaborated this grand vision while standing, hardhat in hand, in front of the steel-frame skeleton of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church, then under construction in the early 1970s.
“It is our prayer,” Dr. Kennedy announced, “that through this church the gospel of Jesus Christ might be radiated through television and radio, motion pictures and cassettes, books and clinics, and by ways yet undreamed of unto the entire world….”
“That is very much our vision still today,” said Dr. Pacienza, who came to Christ under Dr. Kennedy’s ministry and was mentored by him in his late teens and early 20s. “Thanks to our generous partners and friends, it is one we now pursue via television, the printed word, the internet, as well as our Providence Forum and the D. James Kennedy Center for Christian Statesmanship in Washington, D.C.”
Dr. Pacienza added: “I am thrilled by what is ahead. Thanks to the prayers and ongoing support of ministry friends, we are determined, as our CRM vision statement declares, to ‘Use all available media to make Christ trusted, known, and served, to equip Christ-followers from generation to generation, and to advance a biblical worldview that is embraced throughout the world.’”
